The Ginger truth

Truthfully the only thing that made the Nexus S interesting was Android 2.3 (gingerbread) and the NFC chip. Without that it was kinda crappy, the plasticky feel it had felt cheap & the specs were the same as any other recent Android phone. And then the lack of 4g? Come on Samsung what were you thinking? Step it up...... hopefully someone puts a nfc chip in a higher grade device next time around.

Sweet Tooth

So there's been all this talk about devices not getting their froyo update. But its sad because gingerbread is already among us, with honeycomb well on its way. I feel like Android will always be fragmented if companies continue to skin it and make low-end devices. I mean its good Android is evolving and becoming a better os but the rapid updates make it hard for manufacturers and carriers to keep up. I'm all for updates and such but its also hurting the Android community. Because there are devices still running 1.5 and 1.6 that are capable of updating to 1.6 or 2.1 And it sucks to see these costumers suffer and are forced to buy a new phone if they want updates. I mean I have an evo 4g and currently have my froyo. But I fear I may never see gingerbread or any other further updates. But stop by the comments and let me know wat u think.

The sweet taste of gingerbread...

So finally I'm using the stock gingerbread keyboard on my Evo. (Unrooted) and that's why it took me so long to test it out. I had to wait on the apk to be released. But aside from that I love it, Im using it to type this post as you read. It seems somewhat laggy at the moment but maybe I need to soft reset my phone. (haven't done that in ages. So that may be the problem) the predictive text is fairly good. It gets the job done. The buttons seem evenly spaced and large enough. After more use with it, I may have some pros and cons about it. But until then I'm enjoying the sweet aroma of gingerbread :-)

SoundHound In: Crouching Sound Hidden Hound

So there has been much talk of Sound Hound lately, and how its gonna be embedded on all future Android devices from HTC. But has anyone noticed that it was placed in the 2.1 update on the Cliq? Not the stand-alone app but built into the Cliq's music app. Not a major find but still interesting. Here's a screen to see the proof :) enjoy and check it out on your Cliq.
